Player's View:
The Tippmann A-5 paintball gun is one of Tippmann's highest selling guns. You can literally see these in every store within a 5 mile radius and it's for a reason. The Tippmann A-5 is a mid-level paintball gun built with the same quality and durability you can expect from the Tippmann name. The coolest feature on the A-5 is hands down the built in Cyclone feed system. These can feed 20 balls per second and do not take any batteries making it so there's never that need to upgrade to an expensive loader. This gun is setup great for any level of player especially the avid woodsballer right out of the box you have a system that can keep up with just about any high end woodsball style gun on the market. The A-5 is setup so you can easily disassemble the whole bolt system. The A-5 is ready to rock out of the box but in case you are inclined to take your setup 1 level higher the A-5 is very easily upgradable in every aspect. For the price this gun is a solid investment in any serious paintballer's budget.

The black Tippmann A-5 Marker with E-Grip & Selector Switch is all about speed. Its patented Cyclone Feed System links the feeder sprocket to the air system giving it the power to unleash a fury of balls as fast as you can fire them. It also features electronics with five firing modes (semi-auto auto-response full auto 3-shot bursts turbo) for rapid variable firing up to 17 balls per second. The Tippmann A-5 Marker with E-Grip combines technology accuracy and durability and can also be completely stripped and reassembled in the field in 60 seconds - without tools.

With its all-aluminum die cast receiver and extra-sturdy black finish the Tippmann A-5 Marker with E-Grip is one of the toughest markers available. Other features include a shock-absorbing end cap for reduced wear and recoil; front-cocking knob which allows for a fully enclosed receiver; and a 200-round wide-mouth hopper. In addition it can be upgraded with many different accessories including but not limited to a Flatline Barrel System Sniper barrels collapsible stock double trigger low pressure kit and expansion chamber kit. It’s fully-compatible for CO2 compressed air or nitrogen and is completely customizable for enhanced performance.

    I bought this gun/marker here in this website and its awesome, i've also used an Angle and this gun is just as god as it in my opinion. The only thing i had a hard time with was getting used to the e-grip but once you adjust it becomes really handy, other than that the gun is amazing!!!

    I haven't played Woodsball for a few years and decided to research before parting with my hard earned cash for a new gun. After reading many, many reviews and viewing as many You Tube videos I decided upon the Tippmann A5 with E-Trigger. I read all the reviews, good and bad. Nothing really deterred me because of my experience with a 98 custom pro which I highly recommend. (must be the new pro with ACT}

    This weekend I took the A5 out for its woodsball test drive. I'm always a little nervous taking anything in to competition without a number of test runs first. There had been no time for a test run but I shouldn't have worried. Nothing could match the fire power of the A5 in full auto mode. They let off one shot and I returned a blitz of fire. Accurate powerful return fire. My opponent would normally run or simply duck for cover.
    The opposition had a number of 98s, US Army and a few Spyders.

    Let's respond to the few negatives I read about this gun.
    1. The battery does not last long in the e-trigger. After a days shooting the Duracell 9V did begin to flash red…..but I'm still using the same battery 2 days later and its going strong. Maybe the red light warning is set to provide plenty of warning. The battery is very easy to replace but the battery door can be a tight fit and is the only part of this gun that seems a little under engineered and out of place for the build quality of the rest of the gun.
    2. It's heavy. I used mine with a remote line and the CO2 on my back. An Inverse Mini this gun is not, it was never designed to be. The mini would most likely find woodsball a tough environment. Was it noticeably heavy in combat, no. I don't consider this a heavy gun. It is well balanced and very easy to maneuver when it became a requirement. The build quality was such that I never once had to concern myself about the environment. This is not a heavy gun for woodsball.
    3. It uses a lot of CO2. This comment may have some merit but again the stunning power and performance far outweighs that little extra gas. I used one 20oz tank where I would normally get through a 12oz. A little more CO2 but nothing I would consider excessive.
    4. The Cyclone feeder chops balls. I put 1000 of the cheapest balls on the market through this gun, Monster (New Formula) not a single chop, need I say more.
    I was skeptical at first read because nothing these days seems to live up to expectations anymore. The Tippmann A5 does. It's a tough, accurate powerful gun. It is very easy to mod and easy to strip and clean.
    When I fired off that the unforgettable ripping sound of the A5 in full auto, my opponents was clearly intimidated.
    I fully recommend this gun.

    This upgrade is most likely the best upgrade for an a5. Before my gun was just decent at woodsball and awful at speedball. Now I own all my friends with their fancy electronic guns that shoot 60bps. the first time i shot it, it sounded like a rocket launcher. A couple bad things are it is heavy and you have to use a wrench type thing to turn it off and on and swith modes. overall i would reccemend it.

    UPGRADES TO GET

    Difficult To Setup, Heavy

    Double trigger cannot be added to the selector switch so dont bother to get it. THe expansion chamber upgrade was kinda hard for me to attack and the bad thing is, the on and off switch isn't on the outside, its sorta within the grip and you always need a pen or something to turn it on. Its alright other than that. I recommend geting a remote coil for the A-5 cuse if your getting the CO2 tank, it gets kinda heavy.
